Spring is heeeeeere!!

Updated: Jun 28, 2021

Hi crafty friends,

in Belgium the weather is lovely. The sun is shining and it is 20 degrees. Perfect inspiration for a spring card don’t you think? I wanted to create a card with spring colors and flowers and the cutest image IMG516 from Oddballart. I also included a photo tutorial. So glad spring is heeeeeere 🐑

List of supplies:

- IMG 516

- Copic Ciao markers

- Gelli Plate

- Brayer

- Acrylic paint

- Tissue paper

- Regular print paper

- Stencil (Tim Holtz Lace THS034)

- Scissors

- Glue

- Paper Punch

- White cardstock

Step 1:

Print and color the image 516 (curly sue). I used Copic Ciao markers nr E21, E00 for the skin color. nr BV00, BV02, BV04 for the wool, and R20 and R32 for the button eyes and heart. When coloured fussy cut the image.

Step 2:

- Create a background with my Gelli Plate. I used Talens Amsterdam All Acrylics nr 104, nr 361 and nr 507 and the Him Holtz Lace stencil

First I laid down the color that I want my background to be with the brayer.

Then I colored the stencil with the color I want my print to be. Purple

I transferred the stencil to the paper et voila.

Step 3:

Cut the paper to the requested size. This one is 3 1/2 inch by 4 3/4 inch.

I want the background to pop so I added piece of paper behind with a border by coloring it with Copic Marker BV04

These 2 pieces I glued together

Step 4:

With a lace paper punch I created a border for my sentiment to go on for some contrasting color. The sentiment is printed on some regular paper, and cut to fit the border and glued.

To give it a bit more texture, I created an extra border with my sewing machine

Step 5:

With some foam adhesive, I glued curly so on the paper and added some small paper flowers. And glued everything onto a white card. And that's it. Super cute and not so hard to make.

Hope you like it and enjoy the lovely spring days.
